 Scenario

The Acme Company was extremely satisfied with the automated, digital online ordering system that your company, Great Code Inc. developed. They were able to decrease costs throughout the manufacturing and order fulfillment processes. Efficiencies were developed within the process which resulted in order fulfillment turnaround time decreasing and customer satisfaction improving.

The Acme Company have contracted with the Great Code Inc. to develop a set of software system solutions to bring their existing manual, paper timekeeping process into an automated, digital timekeeping system.

As the lead developer for the software development team, your work will execute the different phases of the SDLC identifying the best approach for this system and producing the key artifacts for each phase including project planning, analysis, design, and testing.

Instructions

One issue that was gathered during the After-Action Review of the online ordering system was that communication between the customer and the development team was infrequent and caused issues with requirements validation as well as customer confidence. The Program Manager has asked you to update the project plan that was utilized in the online ordering system to address how customer communication can be enhanced. The project plan must describe the systems development life cycle (SDLC) process type to be utilized and document the execution of that SDLC process in a project plan that includes the following:

  • Describe your recommended system development life cycle process type.
  • Detail the challenges and benefits of the recommended system development life cycle process type.
  • Explain how the software development team will mitigate the risks of the chosen SDLC process type.
  • Justification of your reasoning that the recommended system development life cycle process type is the best choice for the new project.
  • Schedule execution of the system development life cycle process type utilized.
  • Detail monitoring techniques that will be utilized to ensure the project maintains the schedule.
  • The Program Manger has asked you to update the requirements elicitation plan from the online ordering system to ensure that customer requirements validation is improved and to ensure that sufficient quantity and quality of requirements are gathered from this inexperienced customer. The requirements elicitation plan needs to include the following information:
    • Describe the requirements elicitation techniques that will be utilized.
    • Detail example requirements to be gathered within each technique.
    • Ensure that elicitation of non-functional requirements is addressed.
  • The Program Manger has asked you to develop design models for the Acme Company timekeeping system. The design models that have been requested are:
    • A design model diagram detailing the overview of the timekeeping system.
    • A process flowchart model for the submission of the weekly timesheet within the timekeeping system.
    • A UML activity diagram for the submission of the weekly timesheet within the timekeeping system.
    • A UML class diagram that must include at least three classes with specific details regarding relationships (names, multiplicity, direction).
  • The Program Manger has asked you to develop a test plan for the Acme Company timekeeping system project that includes the following:

Starting with this provided code, add the following functionality

1.Starting with this provided code, add the following functionality: Replace hardcoded strings “Zero”, “One”, “Two”, “Three” in the ArrayList based on user typed input (use Scanner or JOptionPane classes). The user will be prompted for the String to be stored in the ArrayList and then hit enter. The user will be able to continue to add items to the ArrayList until they just hit enter without typing anything. Once the user does this (hits enter without typing anything), the program will display all of the elements of the ArrayList, both the index and String values, in a table. It will do this via a single loop making use of an iterator method. 2. Starting with this provided code, add the following functionality: Use a Try/Catch block so that the exception is caught and the program exits a bit more gracefully. Save this file as TryCatch.java. (Be sure to rename the Public Class accordingly.) Starting with the provided code again (without the Try/Catch block), fix the code so that
