The use of academic literature should support inferences throughout.

Assignment notes:
  • Thinking about the role of sponsorship for events of this nature. Why would organisations look to sponsor these events, what models, academic thoughts and frameworks can you use to understand the motivations and objectives that can be met from association with these events.
  • Of course, Tesco/ Nike are the respective sponsors in these examples, but who else would/ could benefit from the association with this event?
  • Think about the marketing objectives of any potential sponsors, why would they be looking to sponsor this event?
  • What about the legacy attached to the event? Why is this important?
  • What about the role of sponsorship in the sports marketing mix.
  • Think about the culture of the company and ensure they have relevant fit to the event.
  • Remember this is a report, so you can use images, charts, tables, bullet points to make your case.
  • Remember this is still an academic paper, therefore we need to see that you understand and can demonstrate event marketing and sports sponsorship, from your perspective and with depth from academic journals and sources.
