Many families pass down traditions that stem from their ethnic origins

MODULE 3: DISCOVER MUSIC FROM YOUR OWN HERITAGE

OVERVIEW

Many families pass down traditions that stem from their ethnic origins. Maybe your family passes down beloved recipes or holiday traditions that you don’t even realize come from the countries of your ancestors. Music is another important tradition that links us to our ancestry. In this paper, students will choose a country or region of the world where their ancestors came from, and research music from that country’s past and present.

INSTRUCTIONS

Choose one country or region of the world from your own heritage. Using some of the research skills that you learned in your Music Resources on the Web assignment in Module 1, compose a paper that is at least 1000 words long about the music in that country or region’s past and present. Topics might include, but are not limited to: folk music traditions, any major composers from that country, ways that music might have helped shape political movements in that country, ways that those traditions now influence modern musicians, or any rock or pop acts that have come out of that country.
Assemble a list of works cited using a variety of different sources. You should consult at least one print source, and at least three sound recordings. It would be terrific if you can interview a family or community member. Do not use Wikipedia in your list of sources. Avoid YouTube. YouTube can only be used if you use a channel in which the content was created by, and the copyright owned by, that channel’s creator. Most YouTube Channels do not meet that criteria, so avoid it altogether.  Do not use these in your list of sources.  Listen to This is also not allowed because research implies reading beyond the textbook.
Your paper and your works cited list must be formatted to MLA standards. Here is a link to an excellent sample paper in MLA format. It should be a music from Ghana west Africa because that is where i am from which can be either hip-life, highlife or afro beats.

1.Starting with this provided code, add the following functionality: Replace hardcoded strings “Zero”, “One”, “Two”, “Three” in the ArrayList based on user typed input (use Scanner or JOptionPane classes). The user will be prompted for the String to be stored in the ArrayList and then hit enter. The user will be able to continue to add items to the ArrayList until they just hit enter without typing anything. Once the user does this (hits enter without typing anything), the program will display all of the elements of the ArrayList, both the index and String values, in a table. It will do this via a single loop making use of an iterator method. 2. Starting with this provided code, add the following functionality: Use a Try/Catch block so that the exception is caught and the program exits a bit more gracefully. Save this file as TryCatch.java. (Be sure to rename the Public Class accordingly.) Starting with the provided code again (without the Try/Catch block), fix the code so that

As a result of a recent reorganization, Sandra must choose the new director of research. The director will report directly to Sandra and will be responsible for developing and testing new products. The choice of directors is important because Sandra is receiving pressure from the president and board of GLF to improve the company's overall growth and productivity. Sandra has identified three candidates for the position. Each candidate is at the same managerial level. She is having difficulty choosing one of them because each has very strong credentials. Alexa Smith is a longtime employee of GLF who started part-time in the mailroom while in high school. After finishing school, Alexa worked in as many as
